Education
No college education, just school of hard knocks and work experience.
Love Life
Married Michael Azevedo (class of 71) July 3, 1971. We have two
wonderful children, Michael Jr (27) and Angela (24). Plus three
beautiful grandchildren, Austin(7), Tayler(3) and Darrian
(6).
Michael, Jr. is currently in the Marines stationed on Okinawa.
He should be returning to San Diego in July 2000. He will then have
one year left. He is not sure if he wants to stay in the Marine as a
career. He is in a job that requires him to be out to sea to often for
him and family. He has two children, Austin & Tayler. Anglea is
currently living here in Atwater also. She is a CNA. She has one
child, Darren.
Employment
While we were on Okinawa (1978-1981) I worked for the Morale, Welfare &
Recreation department. I ran service personnel vehicle thru the
Japanese inspections so the car could be driven on the island. This
was for about 1 yr. Then worked in the accounts payable office until
we left in August 1981 for Castle AFB. In 1982 started working for the
Merced County Probation Dept as a typist clerk II. In 1983 promoted to
the juvenile traffic clerk still at the probation dept. On 1-5-2000,
went out on job related stress leave. As of 6-9-00, still out on
stress leave. Waiting for workmen's comp. to make a decision if it is
work or not. Everyone but workmen's comp. and my boss knows it is, but
they play their games. I hope to just quit and get started on the
career I really want, which is to have my own crafts business.
On
2-5-01 I signed up to be a Princess House Lifestyle Consultant. I have
been a Princess House Crystal Hostess for years. It was finally time
for me to sell it and make money. It is enjoyable and fun. So if any
of you are interested in hosting a Princess House Party, email me.
Activities
I love working with children. I have been a Girl Scout Leader since
1988. I like to garden, go camping or just be out of doors and crafts.
Selling/holding Princess House Parties.
Accomplishments
Still being alive. I have gone thru two cancer surgeries within 30
days of each other back in Aug/Sept 1998. They say everything is okay
for now. Just alot of doctor visits. My family and friends.
Residence
Lived in Rio Linda until July 1972. That's when Mike joined the Air
Force. July to Oct 1972 we were in Illinois for part of his training.
Then was sent to McClellan AFB so back to Rio Linda we go. There until
1976 moved to Homestead AFB until 1978. Then sent to Okinawa until 1981
and sent to Castle AFB until 1992. At that time Mike retired from the
Air Force. We were to move back to the Sacto. area or out of state to
Colorado. Well that didn't happen. We stayed here in Atwater. Mike
got a job in Pleasaton and ended up buying a house, so looks like we
are here for awhile.
