Education

Attended American River College and transfered to California State University, Sacramento graduated in 1986. Received a Masters of Taxation from Golden Gate University, Sacrmento in 1995.

Love Life

I meet and married Duane Renison while attending Rio Linda. We married in November 1970 and after graduating mid-term from high school,I moved to Tachoma, Washington (where Duane was stationed in the Army). This year we will be married for thirty years and it just doesn't seem possible. We have two children, Tina (she is 28 years old) and Shawn (he is 21 years old).

Employment

After returning to California from Washington, I worked at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichel and Rideout Hospital in Yuba City in Dietary for several years. My next job path took me into accounting at the Firehouse Restaurant and then to Cable Data (now International Business Systems). During this time I worked during the day and when to college in the evening to prepare to become a CPA. I received by CPA experience at a local firm in Sacramento and became certified in November 1988. In 1990 I took a position with a firm in Auburn, California and this lead to a partnership with my former boss. Since 1992 I have been a sole proprietor working out of my home office. In 1995 I also took a postition as an Accounting position at Landmark Healthcare, Inc. and was promoted from accountant to Accounting Manager to my current position of Director of Finance.

Activities

We have horses, so I enjoy riding when I can head to the mountains. Duane is a horse shoer and my daughter,Tina has riden since she could walk, so alot of vacations are up in the mountains. Our favorite spot is outside of Truckee at Euer Valley. A place that is like stepping back in time. Tina was married there in the summer of 1998. Now my son, Shawn is engaged and he wants to be married there too (maybe in a couple of years).

I usually have a garden at our house and grow lots and lots of tomatoes and all. There are always lots of family and friends around to enjoy the fresh vegatables with us. We have two and one-half acres, so I can pretend I am a farmer, but Duane says he is a rancher. You know they say the farmer and the rancher can be friends!

Accomplishments

My biggest accomplishment in my life (so far) are my children. I enjoy them since they live close. After that I would say receiving my CPA cerificate and accomplishing my educational goals. I still have to take classes to keep current, but I enjoy learning and the opportunities to help others with my education.

I recently buy a clarinet and I had not played since high school, so I am trying to re-learn everything I forgot. Seems it was much easier 25 years ago.

Residence

We owned our first home in Sacramento near Madison and Garfield, then we moved to Browns Valley in the mountains outside of Marysville. There we had twenty acres and put in all the utilites and fencing. It was a great place to live, but business and jobs took us back to the the Rio Linda area. We bought my Mom and Dad's old house in Elverta (they had built a house in Cameron Park. We lived there for around five years then moved over to Rio Linda at our present house. We have been considering looking for more acreage, since we now have homes close up to our property.
