Love Life
Married in high school and divorced 4 years later with two lovely
daughters.
Married my true love and passion of my life, Greg Rose, in
1975. We celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary last December in
Yucatan, Mexico.
Greg spent 4 years in the Navy on an aircraft carier
as a jet engine mechanic during the V.N. war. He fortunately survived
a fire and a riot on the USS Kittyhawk. After the Navy and marrying
me, Greg went to work at McClellan AFB as a jet engine mechanic and
retired last year (2000) as the supervisor of the jet engine shop. He
was also in charge of safety and training. Greg and I share many
activities together but, he was also a soccer referee instructor as
well as a State referee. He was also on the volunteer fire department
in Wheatland.
Besides our daughters, we also have a son, Jason.
Employment
Mail truck driver all through high school and beyond.
Bookkeeping to
Corporate Accountant for various employers.
Ten years at Bank of
America from teller to boarding loans to collections officer.
Finally,
I got smart and went back to school at a late age.
I am currently
employed as the project manager for our Research and Development Dept.
at John Taylor Fertilizers in Rio Linda.
Basically, my job is to
obtain, organize, implement, complete, and write reports for
agricultural research projects. I'm in my 6th year at John Taylor, who
was recently purchased by the Wilbur Ellis Company.
Activities
Golf, fishing, sailing, reading, gardening, and travel are my favorite
activities. Now that Greg is retired, we hope to travel to various
places around the world as well as visit our grandchildren in
Kansas.
My job keeps me very busy during the agricultural growing
season, so we limit our traveling to the winter months.
Previously,
Greg and I were heavily involved in youth soccer from 1984 to 1995. We
were on the soccer board, coaches, soccer parents, and referees. All
our children played soccer and our son, Jason, was also a referee. We
were instrumental in bringing youth soccer to Wheatland and a team to
Wheatland High School.
Accomplishments
The most important accomplishment that I have managed is raising three
children. We have two daughters (from my previous marriage) that Greg
lovingly raised. Sonja, our oldest, and her husband, Doug, live in
Kansas with our three beautiful grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, and
Anthony. Charity, our youngest daughter, lives with her husband, Jon,
in Yuba City, CA (no children yet). Our son, Jason, is as difficult as
his mother and can't decide what he wants to be when he grows up. He
has attended various colleges and has enough credits to graduate but
unfortunately, they are not in the same majors. He is currently living
and working in Marin County. Jason has never married (and not likely
to) and has no children. I think three grandchildren is all we're
going to get.
Another accomplishment I'm proud of is capturing Greg as
my life long husband and our very special relationship. I'm also happy
that I was able to go back to school, get my degrees, and get a really
neat job.
Residence
Lived briefly in San Francisco, San Diego, Elverta, and Rio Linda after
high school and then off to Wheatland, CA.
We've made our home in
Wheatland for the past 23 years. We have a modest three bedroom home
that was difficult raising 3 children in with only one bathroom, but is
perfect for Greg and I now that the kids have moved out. We are
currently in the process of remodeling our small house.
