Education

Went into the U.S. Air Force in January 72 received an Associate in Applied Science from the Community Collage of the Air Force in December 1983, (It takes some of us awhile to achieve such grand stature). The degree was in the field I worked in, Aircraft Armament Systems Technology, AAS Community Collage of the Air Force 1984, (I was a weapons loader, system maintenance and instructor). After I was Honorably discharged in April of 1984 I entered the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, Arkansas where I received a Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Bible Language, Master of Bible Language Degree and Doctor of Bible Languages Degree.

Love Life

Met and married Karen Elder (Foothill class of 73) in October 1973. I can not believe it has been 44 years! I am still nuts about her. We have three children. Sherry and Kathy (they are sisters who came to live with us in 1985 ages 9 and 11 at the time)Sherry lives in Alabama, Kathy is here in Michigan and Bryan James (surprise!)born after 16 years of marriage in 1990. He is now married to Kylie and they have twin girls born in August 2016.

July 2002 - Sherry got married May 18 and now lives in Alabama! Justin has not figured out if he should call me dad or not. He has been calling me Mr. Marler.

Kathy moved from Connecticut to California and now to Michigan. She is single, RN and enjoying life.

Employment

U.S Air Force January 1972 to April 1984. Pastored Center Point Missionary Baptist Church, Hartman Arkansas; Became pastor of First Landmark Baptist Church, Guilford, Connecticut. I have held many part time jobs during my Air Force time, seminary and pastorial work.

I was Associate Pastor of Tulare Missionary Baptist Church and instructor in the Tulare Missionary Baptist Seminary. I was Missionary-Pastor of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Chapel, Jackson, Michigan. I am now RETIRED!

Activities

Whatever she wants to do! Family!, we like to travel and see the world! Sports on the TV, RETIRED!

Accomplishments

I have had the privilage of teaching someone that they can have a personal relationship with God. Matthew 11:28, Romans 10:9, 13.He that believeth on the Son is not condemned but he that believerth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3)

Residence

We have lived in: Korea, Utah, Germany, Colorado, California, Arkansas, Connecticut and Michigan. We are now in Traverse City, Michigan.

Stuff

Stuff is one of my favorite words. Most everyone calls me Wayne, officially still Bryan. I have not changed much over the years. On some things I am very serious, ie the things about God, giving my word, I still hate to be wrong about anything. Then there are all the other things. I still love to make people laugh. My son has my sense of humor! I spent a lot of time in the military and developed the quick come back, which sometimes gets me into trouble. Some preachers don't know how to take a joke! I am older, but still just me. OH, I am also a lot bigger than I was in 71, by about 70 lbs!(make that 80lbs!) I would like to hear from you if you are interested enough to read this dribble, drop me a note!
