Greetings!

Looks like we all survived the Y2k "crisis" and with those concerns behind us, can really concentrate on finding our "lost" alumni.

As of this writing, the totals stand at 88 located, 37 nearly located and 11 deceased, leaving 163 to go, or about 45% of the class accounted for. Not too bad! An ad has been running in the Rio Linda News, and one has been sent to the Bee's Neighbors section as well as the Antelope News.

The biggest challenge in finding alumni now is figuring out the connection that will trigger a contact. The easy ones have been found, and finding the rest is a matter of good luck, good advertising and good information. Especially difficult is finding female class members who have taken a new name upon marriage. If you know a married name and approximate location, it can be quite useful. And secondhand contacts such as parents, siblings, cousins and friends help, too. Sometimes just knowing the first names of parents or siblings will lead to a contact. Please review the list at http://reunion.rocemabra.com/rlsh1971/classmates (or ask me to send you the list via e-mail) and see what you can do to help. My goal is to reach the halfway point by the end of January. If you can help out by making a few phone calls, please let me know and I'll forward you a list.

The classmate biographies at http://reunion.rocemabra.com/bio/rlsh1971 have begun to trickle in (perhaps trickle is too strong a word, we have four). You can submit your own at http://reunion.rocemabra.com/bio/rlsh1971/create. If you don't have web access and would like to update us on the last 28 years, Bonita Littlefield has volunteered to help you out by accepting your bio via e-mail. Send it to her at dsrtflwr11@aol.com. Information about your post-high school education, work, family, hobbies, activities, accomplishments and the area where you live are all good topics to write about. And if you've got pictures of yourself and the changes you've gone through, we can get those up for all to see as well. Pre-scanned photos can be sent directly to me by e-mail, or if you don't have a scanner, you can contact me for information on how to send them via the postal service.

I'm planning on having the first reunion committee meeting on March 13. Depending on interest, it will either be held at my home in Antelope (for up to 10) or else at the Lutheran Church in Rio Linda. Contact me if you'd like to participate. I'll also be sending out the first Reunion Newsletter at the end of this month. Look for it in your mailbox and be sure to send back the information confirmation postcard that will be included.
