Well maybe not exactly 30 years ago, but about this time in September, 1970, we were returning to Rio Linda for our final year of high school. We were SENIORS, and we probably figured it was our time to rule the school. Senior Square was now ours to freely occupy, and there was a whole new bunch of puny freshmen to pick on, but as we were rapidly approaching adulthood, we found the restraint to be model citizens. Didn't we? Returning football players and fans were reflecting on Rio Linda's first championship season. Could it be done again? Others were looking forward to college, the military or the work force. Where would it all lead? After 30 years of reflection, I've come to realize that my senior year was probably one of the most important in my life, where significant changes, challenges and opportunities were presented. Many of you will no doubt feel the same, and many would rather forget all about it. No matter what your perspective, why not engage in some discussion about it? This message is being sent a couple of days early to remind anyone who's interested of the committee meeting this Friday, September 15. It will be held at 7 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church, 5th & L St., Rio Linda. All are invited to join us. A report on the committee meeting will be sent out in October's message. We've had a bit more luck this past month in locating people, and are now down to fewer than 80 missing. Check at the web site, or your August newsletter, for a list of those we're still seeking, and see if you can't help us out. If you haven't received your newsletter, contact me to see if we have a correct address for you. As an aid to help you focus on just a few names, I'd like to highlight some of the particularly hard ones.
